A brief summary of items that may be of interest to the community follows below.

• Our new councillors gave their first reports since election. As some were verbal only we encourage you to view the livestream for the full detail.

• Elections were held for the positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, with Cr Brett Tessari re-elected to the role of Mayor and Cr Michael Whelan elected to the role of Deputy Mayor.

• Cr Rochelle Halstead moved an urgent motion to improve protection of the indigenous environment around the Grantville Sand Quarry site, specifically the protection of a number of ancient grass trees put at risk removed during the mining process, which was well supported by the other councillors and carried unanimously.
